Professor Dr. Cornelia Lass-Flörl graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Leopold-Franzens-University of Innsbruck, Austria, in 1986. Since then she has specialised in the field of medical microbiology. Her teaching and clinical service responsibilities focus on the diagnosis of fungal infections in severely immunocompromised patients. Her research interests include both clinical investigation and advances in basic medical microbiological science, with special interests in the epidemiology, diagnosis, prevention and therapy of fungal infections, antifungal susceptibility testing, and the interaction of fungi and platelets.
She has authored several journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters. Professor Dr. Lass-Flörl is a member of the Subcommittee on Antifungal Susceptibility Testing of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) European Committee for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST) and a member of ESCMID Executive Committee. In the past she was a board member of both the Fungal Infection Study Group (EFISG ESCMID) and the European Confederation of Medical Mycology (ECMM) and head of the Section “Antimykotische Chemotherapie“, Paul Ehrlich Gesellschaft.
