The department of bioanalytical development of Bruker Daltonics is developing innovative methods and tools for microbiology and clinical mass spectrometry. This comprises the development of novel methods, consumables, and software including advanced mathematical algorithms. Specialists from microbiology, biochemistry, chemistry, biology and bio-mathematics are driving the development microorganism identification, in particular by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, typing and epidemiology, mass spectrometry based resistance/susceptibility detection. Further development areas are immuno-mass spectrometry and MALDI-TOF based pathology (tissue typing).
The bioanalytical development department includes two fully equipped laboratories of bio-safety level 2.
